What is the aim of a good strategy? In my view, it is to provide a direction and a playing field for people in your organization. By having a clear view on what we want to achieve, we can set people free to take decisions faster and be more opportunistic out there …. where the real world is. It may hold for a year, or even 2 years but that is ok. A Strategy is a living document and rather than spending months of analysis and pre work, do it fast and agile and let it live in the field rather than collecting dust in the drawers.
